How Goodyear Tests Tires
In one Goodyear Tires lab testing, giant dynamometer test wheels
on simulated roads and highways to punish tires. They're overloaded and
overheated ... even destroyed. They're poked, pierced and with steel bars. Highly engineered - and costly -machines with flat, abrasive belts spin them up to speeds of more than 100 mph and then
the tire is twisted and turned to simulate the most brutal driving conditions.
