Note:
The overall ranking of a tire
may not be the best judge of it's performance capabilities
for you.
Look at how each tire performed in the individual
performance factors and decide which is the most important
for your driving style and needs.
Example:
The number one rated tire may
rate low for tread wear which is your most important
consideration when choosing a new tire. But...the number 3
ranked tire may have a better customer rating for tread wear
which might make this your better choice. To

The Number 1 Customer
Rated Tire The
Tech M550 A/S is the Ultra High Performance All-Season
tire member of AVON Tires family of Tech performance tires.
The attractively priced Tech M550 A/S is designed to provide
flexibility for the drivers of sports cars, sports coupes
and performance sedans by providing year-round traction,
predictable handling and control in dry and wet road
conditions, as well as in light snow. On the outside, the
Tech M550 A/S radial's hallmark is a silica-enhanced
all-season tread material is molded into a directional tread
system featuring large singular tread blocks to furnish
stability on dry roads while its grooves help to pump water
and slush out of the tire's footprint to expand hydroplaning
resistance and bad weather grip. Lateral grooves and
multiple sipes in each tread block enlarge the number of
gripping edges to improve wet road and light snow traction.
On the inside, the
Tech M550 A/S contains twin steel belts reinforced by
spirally wrapped nylon, with a body that sandwiches a rigid
sidewall filler between polyester cord plies to prevent
distortion at high speeds and when cornering.
The Tech M550 A/S radial's sidewall styling has black
letters reversed out of a stylized serrated band as well as
a protective "rim recess" on all sizes. |
